What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I had never been out of the US before, so it was very different to be around people from other countries all of the time. Because of that, I learned a lot about other cultures and made a lot of friends from other countries. It was 100% worthwhile to see the world from a different perspective, everyone should do it.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? The meal plan that the U of Manchester offers is good for lunch, but all of the dining halls that accept the money are closed by 4 pm, so plan on cooking yourself dinner and going out to eat a lot.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I had known that classes are arranged a lot differently in Manchester, in that students only take classes in their major. This meant that a lot of the classes that I didn't expect to be challenging required more work than I expected.

The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
