Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The professors know that they are located on a beautiful island and they teach accordingly! You are not academically challenged as you are in the states, it is more of a challenge of application and integration with yourself and all of previous learning experiences and you learn how to bring all of that together to fully understand what is being taught to you. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The administrators were there for me 100% of the time! If we needed anything from directions on how to take the bus to a particular place, to how we should change our mindset to take in all of the culture! they were there! |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I loved my roommates! and I loved my student apartment! It was the perfect location, school, shopping and good eateries were close by. |
* Food: |
I have fell in love with halloumi cheese and gyros! Greek meze has a special place in my heart now! |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
It is so welcoming! I feel like Cyprus is a melting pot of Europe, I have met so many people from Cypriots to people from other countries in Europe, Africa and Middle East! |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I personally did not have a problem with healthcare but where the student apartments are located it is a 5 min drive to the hospital and there are several pharmacies located around the student apartments and school. |
* Safety: |
I have never felt safer in my life! you do not see many police but that is because you do not have petty street crime like in America. There was no worrying about attacks to identity theft. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
It was very easy because you are convenient to a lot of stores and eateries so you do not have to spend money on taxi rides to obtain food or groceries. The stores are a simple walk in the neighborhood. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | 120 euro a week |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | SPLIT TAXI'S! & Do not eat out as much, cook your own food. |

|

|
