Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The educational experience was great. Learning so many facts in all classes about Cyprus no matter the course. The teachers are very generous and willing to lend a helping hand when needed.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The apartments itself was nice and livable. However, you have to realize that living with other people from different places you have to be open minded to the fact that everyone doesn't live by the same standards as you. You truly have to adjust yourself around the people you live with.

* Food:

Upon my arrival I neglected eating the food because I didn't know what it was, but I attempted to try everything. After living on the island for 3 1/2 months and becoming more cultured you learn to appreciate the food more.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

There are pharmacies within walking distance. Also, hospitals are 5 minutes away with taxis.

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

2.5 I like to shop and I don't like cooking so at the beginning of the semester I spent a lot of money on food.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 100+
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Take the bus to destinations, you get student discounts. If you take taxis, split them amongst friends. Also, don't eat out too much because that money adds up, so I suggest you go to the market and buy food to cook.

How much did the program encourage you to use the language?

0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language

How many hours per day did you use the language? 0
