Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I did a independent research study with a professor from the University of Nicosia. There was not a lot of structure nor was there clear communication from the advisor. That was my biggest concern. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
All of the program coordinators were absolutely amazing. Extremely hospitable and accommodating. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Maro apartments were lovely. Truly appreciated having a kitchen with cooking utensils. |
* Food: |
Mediterranean food was delicious. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Felt as integrated as possible with the two months that I had there. Public transportation was a big part of getting to feel more like a local. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
Very clear. |
* Safety: |
I felt extremely safe my time in Cyprus. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
Well yes and no, I think I would love to do the same project but just structure it a little different. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
Definitely cooking meals was a huge money saver. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | probably 30-70 euros a week (I think) |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Eat in as much as possible. You have a kitchen use it. |

Reasons For Studying Abroad

The Academic or LinguistYou went abroad with specific academic goals in mind; the program credentials and rigor of your coursework abroad were very important to you. You had a great time abroad, but never lost sight of your studies and (if applicable) were diligent with your foreign language study. Good for you! |
