A trip that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Past Review
By A student (University of Northern Iowa) - abroad from 06/08/2015 to 06/23/2015 with
University of Northern Iowa: Traveling - UNI Capstone in London and Paris
I learned how to travel around a city in which the main language is not English. I learned how to find my way around and feel accomplished by the little things! I learned simple words in French such as bonjour (good day), bienvenue (welcome), and merci (thank you). It was nice to be able to use these words so that the people around me knew that I was making an attempt to cherish their culture. I gained a new perspective on my life in America, and I learned how to appreciate what I have. The whole experience was definitely worthwhile!

* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I think it would be best to limit the number of people in a room to four or five. We had a room with nine people when we were in Paris, and that was just too many people. It was too difficult to coordinate bed times, wake up times, etc. |

Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
I was able to get through the two weeks abroad with only spending $400 (american dollars) on food, souvenirs, travel, and two theatre shows. I think that this is very reasonable considering the amount and quality of the food and the amount of souvenirs I was able to bring home. |

A Look Back
* What did you like most about the program? |
|
* What could be improved? |
|
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | I wish that I had known a little more about Paris before I left. It was great learning about the city while I was there, but it would have been great to be able to add to knowledge I already had, rather than gain all new knowledge while I was there. |
