University of Northern Iowa: UNI Capstone in Four Countries

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
My adventure to England, Hungary, Romania, and Greece was more than worthwhile. I not only got to experience a long term travel abroad but also was able to see the other countries' cultures and customs while visiting. I have a broader appreciation for others backgrounds and histories and this will forever impact my life in a positive way. My future plans are even more broad now; I would not be afraid to internship or even work and live in another country.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Signing up for the "Four Country Capstone" offered by UNI, I was incredibly excited to explore the world yet oddly nervous about traveling to a foreign land. Once arriving to the airport on May 9, in Des Moines, I could barely contain myself with nerves and anxiety; what if I got sick? What if I hated it? What if I got lost? However, once arriving in London I never felt more thrilled, excited, and safe traveling with a group of students I had gotten to known over the past semester. The trip itself was eye-opening and life changing. I wish I could have stayed even longer and kept traveling! I would recommend any student that has the urge to see the world to take this once in a lifetime opportunity with UNI and study abroad.
