What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Meeting the English, Norwegians, Germans, Romanians, Dutch, and many other nationality students was sucha a great experience. I learned about the study habits, the cooking, the language, and the passion of these friends and will never forget them. My Interest in pursuing Business Management within an international corporation is soon to become a reality with all the networks that i have created through this program.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

There was no formal introduction made by a Faculty Leader, and I can remember only a couple email messages sent stating a welcome and a good-bye.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Flat was 50-75 meters from the classrooms, a big plus. Living directly on campus was very beneficial. International students were provided a Duvet, Duvet Cover, Mattress Sheet,Pillow and Pillow case at a cost of £20($33). All cook ware, cutlery, plates and cleaning supplies need to be purchased in advance. Be prepared to make the initial deposit £250 ($397) for accommodations way in advance..you do get it back pretty fast.

* Food:

you have to try all the campus locations out first to see which has the better deals of which days and which location is open during what hours. Due to most of them being closed on weekends you must learn the bus system and surrounding shops to be able to eat out, or else stock up on groceries to cook at home.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

There were functions in the Student Union each day and night. Every Wednesday night the university rented a night club exclusively for Roe Students and had buses to shuttle to & from. Every Friday night there was a themed gathering in the Student Union with discounted drinks. For Christmas each of the four colleges had a dinner gathering to celebrate with each other. A wide variety of associations and clubs were available for anyone to join.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

24 hr security present and available. ID cards checked and verified after dark. of the 3 1/2 months only heard about two muggings...8,500 attending students...good odds.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Direct Enrollment/Exchange

* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? Exchange

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Attending each class is beneficial no matter what 2nd and 3rd year students say. A student that can study independently and can write 2500-3000 word essays without any issues would be a great candidate!!!
