Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I love the Spanish teachers!! |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
I loved the University of Salamanca professors. They were fun, and I felt comfortable with them. I felt at home in less than a week of study. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
It was nice! I got used to daily cleaning of my room :) |
* Food: |
It was not very good at the dorm, went out to eat a lot which cost money |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
None arranged by the program! |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
In Spain, if someone does not know where to direct you to go when you ask for directions, they make it up. One night I was constantly told wrong directions, and walked for 5 hours. It was a horrible experience. Carry a map! |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition? |
|
Language acquisition improvement? |
I practiced language with the locals. In my spare time I spoke in spanish to the local people of Salamanca. I preferred speaking spanish with the local people, as other students spoke either improperly or were very strict on speaking in 100% correct spanish, which was a process as I was learning intermediate spanish. |
Direct Enrollment/Exchange
* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? | Direct Enrollment |
