Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The classes were difficult, but because they were so rare, and because it is such a walk to campus from the student village, I found it difficult to justify going to class. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
I had almost no contact with the on site program's coordinator after classes began. The only contact we had was when she wanted us to speak with her students who were going abroad in 2010-11. Fortunately, there was a great group of kids studying during my semester, so we all learned together. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Endcliffe Village, Lawrencefield amazing living. private rooms and bathrooms with a shared kitchen, sitting area, and dining table. However, internet was only available when plugged into the wall. great for parties ;)

only problem was the absence of internet in the public spaces |
* Food: |
i'm a beasty cook |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
off campus, it's definitely a party atmosphere. we had some really good times. short trips into the peaks and manchester and leeds. you can day trip to most of the country via train. DEFINITELY buy the rail card if you'll be there more than a month. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
we were warned early on about the sketchy parts of sheffield, and we avoided them. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | forgot to include the alcohol i would be purchasing... also, my parents were transfered to england, living only 45 minutes away. so my budget stuff doesn't really reflect a normal experience. |

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | None |
