What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
The academics were extremely challenging and broadening. I was most affected personally by living in the community while I was there. I found a great church community to be involved in, I sailed in the University Sailing Club, and participated in other social events in Sheffield. The experience was more than worthwhile... it was life changing.

Prices were a little higher than expected but I was able to find part time work to compensate for the budget increase.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Always good to have an emergency fund of about $500-1000 for surprise expenses.

The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
