Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Very easy workload for first 2 years at ST. Andrews. They first two years are basically intro classes to get everyone to the same level. However, my 3rd and 4th year friends there said that classes got very challenging for their years because classes got much more specific. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
I wasn't on an American Program. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
No RA's, living on your own. |
* Food: |
The catered food was bad, by the end I simply cooked for myself in the kitchen in my dorm |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Raisin weekend and travelling during the one week break was awesome. Lots of American kids at St. Andrews as well, both a good and bad thing. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
They have free health care with doctors ready to exam you within a day. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|

* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? | Direct Enrollment |

|
A Look Back
* What did you like most about the program? |
|
* What could be improved? |
|
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | There are lots of American kids there, if you want American kids or kids from all over Europe St. Andrews is great. However, University of Edinburgh would have been easier for travel (also more expensive). |
Individual Course Reviews
Course Name/Rating: |
Physics 1A |
Course Department: | PH 1011 |
Instructor: | Dr. Brown |
Instruction Language: | English |
Comments: | Was challenging. Great demonstrations offered in lectures. However, was a large lecture setting. More individual attention offered at once a week class and lab section. Was much more of an introductory course similar to a college paced high school physics class dealing with properties of matter, mechanics, and waves and optics. |
Credit Transfer Issues: | I am still waiting to hear. |

Math 1002 |

Comments: | This was a challenging course. It was a combination of the end of Calculus BC and an intro into both linear algebra and multivariable calculus. |
