What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned a lot about travel and about myself. I learned how amazing and sanity-saving new friends are and how much I love exploring new cultures and countries.

Not may of the program events took us out into the town to meet native people, so it was mostly just us going out on our own.

Very safe campus and city, with a lot of support from the ISS staff.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Very expensive with the exchange rate; it would have been nice to look at budgets with UNI staff before going over.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Always look for savings, don't buy every little thing you think you need, and ALWAYS be aware of the exchange rate.

  • Stirling was a beautiful city and campus that I loved being on every minute.
  • The people were interesting and fun to be with and study with.

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
