University of Stirling: Stirling - Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Coming to Scotland was very worthwhile because of the opportunities I've had to explore the country and the rest of Europe. Although the education was not good, it did leave me plenty of time to do other things!

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The academics at the University of Stirling are a joke compared to Clark's education. I had very little course work and I didn't care about any of my assignments. Class honestly just got in the way of my travel time. Clark has a small school mentality that gives a strong bond between student and professor. Here, the professors have no idea who I am, getting help is very difficult, and our assignments are graded by an anonymous panel.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I was placed in a flat with 3 Americans, 1 person from England, 1 from Switzerland, 1 from Austria, and 1 from China. My building was very far away from the rest of campus, but it had a nice community of its own.

* Food:

I cooked all my own food

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I was very disconnected from the rest of the university

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Direct Enrollment/Exchange

* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? Direct Enrollment
