Rewarding and amazing experience! No regrets choosing to study abroad in the UK! Past Review

University of Sussex: Brighton - International Summer School
Very worthwhile! I changed significantly yet for the best in the 2 short months I was abroad. I definitely want to find a job where I can travel often and continue to learn about the world around me.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I loved the small class sizes of about 10 people. The workload was doable for the 4 week timeframe of each class. In addition, I feel that the group projects enhanced my learning as well as enabled me to meet people from different countries. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The University of Sussex had a wonderful staff who were organized and prepared for our arrival to their university. Their student staff and trip facilitators did a great job! I loved all the trips I participated in and they really enhanced the quality of my study abroad experience. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
|
* Food: |
On campus dining facilities were good. I liked that I became more independent since I learned to cook a little bit on my own. Quality/quantity of food good. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Trip to Paris was amazing, along with trips into London to see Buckingham Palace, houses of parliament, and a play at the Globe Theater! Other trips included going to see Stonehenge and Bath! |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
I always felt very safe in Brighton and on campus. Their security policies seemed very similar to what we have at UCR. I never needed healthcare while I was abroad so I cannot comment on that aspect. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
