I wish you could know you're in 'The Good Old Days' before you left them Past Review

University of Sydney: Sydney - Direct Enrollment & Exchange
Everyone should study abroad. It is a (this is overused) life-changing experience. I will never forget these times I had here with both my American friends as well as the locals. Take chances.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Pushed me very hard to make an honest effort. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I live (for another month) at Sydney University Villages. There are just a lot of issues here including terrible internet access and lack of air-conditioning. I like the friends I've made here but I would recommend to other students to live in a different apartment complex around Sydney University |

Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
Sydney is expensive, no way around it. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $200 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Sydney is expensive, there's no way around it. Find the cheapest grocery stores an stick with them. For example my cheapest grocery store is about a 25 minute walk but is way cheaper (even including a bus ride home if the groceries are heavy) than the one down the street. Also, having a job may seem like the last desire on earth, but it's extremely helpful, especially since you're not earning the money to save it. |
