About

This course in Copenhagen, Denmark builds on excursions to Danish Olympic and National Sport Organizations to illustrate the ideals behind the International Olympic Movement. The first half of the course will focus on sport law, national sport policy, and how international perspectives differ from those in the U.S.A. The second half will focus on the psychology of sport, specifically youth sport and ways in which youth experiences support and often undermine the Olympic ideals for sport. We will also explore the distinct culture of the city through a tour by bike. Since it is the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen is home to many Danish national sport organizations, which provides for ample opportunity to build international connections. Lonely Planet voted it the #1 city to visit in 2019 and serves as a hub to the rest of Europe.
