The course introduces the history of nuclear development, basic concepts of radiation and radioactivity, radioactive waste management, global warming, the impact of nuclear power plants, industrial applications, nuclear security, and nuclear medicine. Laboratory exercises offer students hands-on experience, and students attend guest lectures and discussions conducted by the host university's graduate students and faculty members on the latest research. Students will visit the internationally renowned laboratory Gran Sasso and a research reactor.
