About
The class field trip to Tlazala, Mexico will give students the opportunity to learn participatory action research (PAR) by doing and by reflecting on their experiences as they unfold. The students will collaborate with a team from the Universidad Albert Einstein, the municipal government, and the local community. The objective is to collaboratively prepare a strategic plan for sustainable development for the local micro-region, and carry out two to three specific projects related to food self-sufficiency, community capacity building, and economic sustainability. Mornings will be spent in classroom settings at the UAE campus; afternoons will be spent in field work in and around Tlazala.
