Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I enjoyed my classes that I took abroad, they were structured very differently to my courses at my home university. I found the school to be challenging in more than one way but I learned more from this challenge. There were only two pieces of work per class that would determine your final grade and I had lectures once a week. Each class had one three hour lecture and then a practical that went with the class. This was the outdoor activity component. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
UHI had a strong outdoor leadership and skills component. This allowed me to further my own outdoor skills, but I did not get enough out of the lectures. I hope to have more tutor led lectures and not Virtual Classrooms. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I loved living with my host family, they were very kind and welcoming. |
* Food: |
I enjoyed the food and did not have a problem with the diet. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I joined the mountaineering club which was a student led club that took other students from UHI on week outdoor trips. I had a great time with the club and was able to meet more students through my involvement with this club. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
I felt very safe in Fort William. I did not find it to be a challenging place to navigate through. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
