Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Students didn't work as hard as UT students. Some wouldn't even attend class. The grading system was very different as well, so it caused some problems with what will transfer over to my school. For them,what's more important is whether they failed or not, but here, grades are important. Furthermore, if they fail, it's not as drastic as it would be here because they can just retake the exam a couple months later. The classes weren't as organized. Students have to take more of an initiative for themselves to stay on task and do the work since usually the final exam is the sole determinant for whether they will pass the class or not. In my classes, professors only provided lectures.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Lived in an apartment a 25 minute walk from my university building <br /><br /> It wasn't too far from the school, close to some good night life, several markets close by, friends lived close by, metro close by, safe

made our own food which was really cheap. eating out was expensive and several restaurants weren't very good.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

There were many things to see and do in Valencia and living in Europe makes it very easy to travel to other countries in Europe.

I never worried about being in danger of health or crime. However, i would not want to have to use the hospital there as it takes forever to get service.
