Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Only at most 3-4 classes each semester. Great hands on learning with the ocean sciences department. There was much teaching yourself for exams and through classes. many more papers than tests/ exams, and not many homework assignments. The grades were heavily weighted by exams.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

informative and answered questions quickly.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

didnt live in on campus housing and found a flat about a mile down from my classes. Wish I would have known more about the area when choosing the flat but overall a good living situations.

* Food:

food/ food shopping was similar to american shopping but with less choices with crisps, cereal, and other things like that.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

the clubs and people were very inviting and friendly. especially Photo soc. they were a fantastic group of people and it was very hard to say good bye to all the people I had met these months.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

very safe even walking around at 3am in the morning after the club/ pubs close.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

i just didn't budget well. food/ pub was reasonably priced.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $150

Reasons For Studying Abroad

To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you.
The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
