Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I liked the way that the final paper was based on applying what was learned in class to a company or situation. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The international office at Trinity is very good. They were always willing to help us with any problems or concerns that we might have. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
My flat was close to my classes and dining facilities which was handy. I also enjoyed meeting and interacting with the other students who also lived in my flat. |
* Food: |
The dinning hall provided a vegetarian option with for every meal, and cycled the meals so the food was different each morning and night. However, only breakfast and dinner on weekday s were included in the catered meal plan. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
The international office took the international students on cultural excursions to many different parts of Wales, which was a nice way to sight see and experience the culture. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
The police came and told us about safety in Carmarthen, which is one of the safest cities in the United Kingdom. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | About 10 pounds on food each week, so that I could eat lunch and each on the weekends. I brought most of the personal items that were small enough with me, so I didn't have to buy them there. I spent more when I was traveling or went out to eat at a restaurant. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | I just tried to be as frugal as I could when buying food, while making healthy food choices that I could make in a microwave. |
