* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Stayed at Dalkeith Palace, a local building that all Wisconsin in Scotland students stay in.

* Food:

Go out and try the local food. Don't just sit at your accommodation and eat chicken nuggets. Definitely go into Edinburgh and try The Villager.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Nothing specific.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Bad things could happen, but as long as you are smart you shouldn't have a problem.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Because the exchange rate was definitely NOT in our favor, I spent quite a bit. I probably spent at least a couple hundred dollars a week.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Think about the exchange rate and what you're spending in American Dollars. I wish I had known about paying for bus tickets, but that was minimal because they weren't very expensive.

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? This will probably be the only time you go wherever it is you're going. Live it up. Have fun. Spend money. Figure out how you're going to pay it back later.
