Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The work load for me in particular was alot of reading since I am a sociology major so we had alot of packets to read each time we went to class. Each class was long in length (about 3 hours)but we always had a tea break half way through which was very nice. I didn't quite like the way they only determine your grade from one final essay, so I found it hard to show the teacher that I understood the whole of the class.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

They did a wonderful job with everything.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived in a 6 room flat with 5 other flatmates. We all shared a kitchen, hallway and two bathrooms. It was very interesting to actually stay in a dorm again after being so used to having my own apartment. So I had to get used to sharing a whole kitchen and bathroom with 5 other girls. The dorm rooms were perfect size with a big desk, a few drawers attached a twin sized bed with drawers underneath, along with a massive closet and a small sink for brushing your teeth.

* Food:

I really enjoyed trying all the new food of this particular country because we are so similar in so many ways but at the same time we are so different. Aka biscuit or cookie?

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

We went to The Malvern Hills, Birmingham and for two weeks before attending school two friends and I backpacked in Europe ( France, Switerland,Holland & Belgium). I think traveling anywhere and everywhere you can, is so enriching and can open everyones eyes to so much.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
