What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was absolutely amazing. I am going to be a history teacher and all the memories and places I saw will only impact and improve my future teaching methods.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 2 weeks - 1 month

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I adored my Professor's. Only one of them did not welcome us with open arms and do everything to make us feel at home and comfortable in their classes and doing their work. Since the grading system and other things are different about the uni compared to ones in the states, everyone was truly great about helping us as much as possible.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Our Program Leader's were absolutely fabulous! I could not have asked for better ones. They were lovely and extremely helpful with everything!!!

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Very close to a bus that takes you downtown frequently, five minute walk to classes, and surrounded by lots of other college students. Downfall, not all my flatmates were as cleanly or respectful as would have liked them to be and dealt with a few issues throughout the semester so far, but still truly enjoyed the experience.

* Food:

The flats had kitchens. It was nice to be able to spend less money on food because it was self-catered. Great restaurants downtown and some really great pubs. Overall, the food aspect was nice.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Made some incredible friends and truly enjoyed my study abroad experience this semester. The field trips that were planned by our Leaders were brilliant as well.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

There was not a time where I didn't feel safe. Health wise, I did not need to go to the doctor so I can not give an accurate account on that.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • Opportunities
  • Leaders abroad
  • People I met
* What could be improved?
  • Certain classes should not be offered to students
  • I am studying for a year but have not had any contact to Spring students--this should be changed
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Studying abroad... it may seem expensive or a waste of time, but it is truly one of the best experiences. You learn so much, not just in the academic aspect. You learn about different cultures and lifestyles, along with so much about yourself. Responsibility, money management, and build incredible friendships. I am paying for college myself and had to save up to do this for an entire year, but it has been a fantastic, rewarding experience. I believe that everyone should make the choice to study abroad, it is truly incredible!
