What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
This experience has opened my eyes to a completely new light! I never realized how little I actually knew about the world until I came here. It has helped me understand English culture, and opened my mind in a way that has helped me look at things in a completely different way.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The workload was nothing new, I would say it's about the same amount in comparison with the States, or maybe even a bit less. There is a huge difference in the teaching methods, yet I quite enjoy the methods used here a bit more. The teachers set up a basic structure for the students, and not only encourage students to have their own opinion, they re-enforce it multiple times over the term. The teachers allow you to develop as a person and help you broaden your mind to multiple ways over learning and interpreting.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I feel that the University of Brighton, is a very welcoming place, with someone always there with open arms,willing to help if you have any questions or even just need to talk. The study abroad advisers are the kindest people I have ever met, and I am quite lucky to have gotten them over all other possible advisers to be stuck with. Overall, this university and city is everything I could have asked for and more, and I am having the greatest time of my life!

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I live in a house with four other housemates, and we get along really well. The university gave me all the necessary information in order to set up a meeting with various students and multiple house-hunts that were occurring.

* Food:

The food is amazing here. Such a new and different variety of foods, that one otherwise would never come across. To be fair, though, I do eat just about anything, so this is not saying much!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The overall atmosphere of Brighton is incredible. Everyone is friendly, and very welcoming. There is so much to experience that I find that I am never bored. Whether it's exploring multiple attractions or just sitting in the coffee shop, drinking coffee and chatting, there is never a dull moment! I have met some amazing life-long friends in just the brief time I have been here.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If am sick, have a toothache, or just need to pick up some ointment for a cut, the advisers will tell you exactly what to do, set you up with a number or an appointment, and give you directions to where you should go! If I ever need anything, I know not to panic because the advisers are just an email, phone call, or bus ride away.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
