USAC England: Brighton - Undergraduate Courses
You meet so many wonderful people and actually learn so much about yourself during - for me, living out of home for the first time. So worthwhile, I can't reccommend it highly enough.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The education system was really similar to the one at home so I didn't struggle with it which allowed me to spend my time looking around town and taking weekend trips across Europe! |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Everyone was really helpful and there was always someone to contact if something went wrong. They organised fantastic weekend trips across England (and even to Paris) for the group to go on which were amazing :) |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
It was really fun living with the other exchange students because you got to know people who live on the opposite side of the world to you and learn about their culture. |
* Food: |
|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Met fantastic people in class and around campus :) |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I got really sick my first week there and the Program Advisors gave me directions to the doctor and the doctor was able to give me a prescription for antibiotics for free! I only had to pay for the actual medicine at the pharmacy. |
* Safety: |
|
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
It was similar to living at home so I think it would have been much harder if I had come from Europe or America where things are less expensive. But I had also saved up a lot of money for travelling before I arrived. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Just save as much as you can, and the trip to paris is worth it more than the extra chips. |
