Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Was very accommodating, office hours were not ideal.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Was amazing. However, did not receive curtains until I was obnoxious about it.

* Food:

That is to say, what I cooked was delicious. The cafeteria wasn't much good.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Salt Master Days was an incredible event held to honor the town's history in salt

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

There is an english speaking doctor, the town is safe enough that you could sleep outside.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 30 euro, but I had no offered meal plan
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Budget yourself, drink minimally. If needed, make a 'going out budget' so that you will not spend all your traveling money on bars. Most track 1's blew through their traveling money from bars.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? Fluent
What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? 200
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Language acquisition improvement?

I rarely used English in class or on campus. Only really spoke in English to parents via skype and lower tracks that couldn't speak German well enough.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? If you are not looking for a serious, challenging, or overall 'hard' abroad program, DO NOT go on this trip. If you want to go on a 'no grammar left behind' whirlwind adventure, study as hard as you can and aim for track 4.

Individual Course Reviews

Course Name/Rating:

Track 4 German

Course Department: Unsure
Instructor: Stephanie Seewald
Instruction Language: German
Comments: Was very rigorous, very thorough. No Grammar Left Behind.
Credit Transfer Issues: Only if you are serious about learning German. If you are going for the beer or some idiotic reason, go to track 1 and take a nap.
