Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The workload was extremely light and paired with few contact hours each week, this was the easiest semester in my college career.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The study abroad administration at Reading is exceptional! They truly let the students know that any questions are welcome and that they are there to help.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

The food was what one assumes average cafeteria food tastes like. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't amazing food either.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

My program offered several trips to important places in England, such as Stonehenge and London. These were great to take advantage of! Other than that, a lot of the youth culture revolves around going to clubs, so be sure to keep an open mind and try as much as you can.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Reading was very safe, but one must always use common sense and evaluate the danger in each situation.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

  • Study Abroad office
  • Light course load
  • Friendly students
* What could be improved?
  • Orientation
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I believe that a student more interested in learning about the culture rather than the academics would thrive in this school. I learned more from interacting with the other students than I did in the classroom, and I made unforgettable memories and friends.
