Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The Classes taught in English were very not very rigorous. The regular Korean language class was 2 hours a day, every day, which got a little tedious. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Very unhelpful. The guy in charge was in leaving soon after we arrived so he pretty much didn't care. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Dorms are clean and house many amenities. however the common language is English and their are very few native Koreans living their. |
* Food: |
There is great cheap food about a 10 minute walk from the dorms. the on campus food is pretty good as well. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Yonsei has programs to help make connections with local people which was kinda hit or miss. Many Koreans want international friends so if you want to meet Koreans there are plenty of opportunities. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I don't have any person experience but my friends that had serious medical issues were able to get treat but it was very very expensive. Pharmacies are abundant and cheap for minor issues. |
* Safety: |
I felt safer in this city then any other major urban area. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
It's possible to eat out on the equivalent of 10 dollars a day. typical dinners cost around 5,000-8,000 won. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | 100,000 Won |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Don't eat out every day. |
