What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Living there was and will always be one of the best experiences of my life. I will always have a special place in my heart for Torino.I gained a real sense of self and Independence.I would go again in a heart beat.

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I loved my courses. The classes were a bit long compared to American Universities, but they only met once a week.

I loved the USAC Staff. They were friendly and accessible. They tried to get to know the students on an individual basis.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Our apartment was small, and our landlord didn't speak English. He was a sweet man though. Our neighbors were some USAC students but mostly Italians.

* Food:

The food in Torino is great! A lot of variety and the appertivo is amazing almost anywhere

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I met a lot of great students from across the US. There were also a lot of erasmus students at SAA, which allowed us to interact with students from all over Europe.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

At least one language course was required. It was very helpful for us getting assimilated into the culture.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? GO! Explore and learn to love Torino.It is a great city, though a bit chilly at times. Sit in Piazza San Carlo and eat gelato. Soak in the city and learn to live an authentic Italian life.
