It was worthwhile. I learned things about social work that I wouldn’t here in the U.S. I had one on one assessments and developed life long relationships with clients. A student - University of Southern Indiana View Entire Review

It was absolutely worthwhile in every way. I was able to learn from another culture and practice my social work skills. Mackenzie Snider - University of Southern Indiana View Entire Review
About
The Department of Social Work at the University of Southern Indiana has partnered with International Service-Learning Experiences (ISLE) to offer an outstanding service learning opportunity in Jamaica. This trip is open to both graduate and undergraduate students who are seeking to increase their global awareness by engaging in social service work outside of the United States. Students enroll in SOCW 490/513, which is a cross-listed three credit hour course for graduate and undergraduate students. It is a repeatable course for undergraduates. It counts towards Core 39 for undergraduates and is an elective course for MSW students. Deadline to apply each year is October 1 for the following Spring Break’s trip.
