Utah Valley University: Traveling - Business Marketing

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
The old country is incredible. Not worthwhile in a group that size. Would have been better to do on my own with friends and family.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

This was very dissapointing from an educational standpoint. I am not sure what I was supposed to have learned from this trip still.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Poor, very un-organized

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

London, very old need Internet access. Paris was better. Except shower was not very good.

* Food:

London, very dissapointing. A basket of bread is not breakfast. Paris, was better nice to only have to buy lunches.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

I feel like we did not do enough with the locals.

* Health Care:

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

This was very difficult, I wish that more food was included in trip. This was very expensive! I brought $1200 and it was not enough, and I really did not buy any souvingers

* Was housing included in your program cost? Yes
* Was food included in your program cost? Yes
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I was spending about $30 a day on food.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? I think that it would have been better to rent a big house with a kitchen and laundry. This would allowed for us to use the markets and really get inragrateted into the culture. This would also be a great relationship builder to those on the trip.

How much did the program encourage you to use the language?

0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language

Nobody could speak french
