What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned some great hands-on techniques to use in my own future practice. I also gained an understanding of the state of OT and healthcare in the Dominican Republic. It was a wonderful experience!

There were too many activities planned in different places. I would have preferred to spend more time in one place to get a better feel for it.

There was no Wi-Fi most of the time, which was needed to complete assignments.

We were informed of the possibility of illness due to cultural differences in food, and advised to bring a variety of medications.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Translators were always present. However, with my background knowledge of the language, I was encouraged to try to speak for myself.
