Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Download the app. "Air BnbB" There you are able to filter out the options that fit in your budget. My last week on my own in Tokyo, I was able to book a place through the app which cost me only $15 a night, 5 minutes walking distance from the Subway! Definitely worth it. I also recommend for you to rent the pocket wifi at the airport for about $5 a day. With this you will be able to access GOOGLE MAPS on your cell phone in order to get around with much ease. Google Maps will recommend the fastest way to your destination. It sill also explain to you what train to take and what time it leaves, same thing with the city buses.
