My outlook on world and my place in it has forever changed for the better. Past Review
By A student (Marketing And Management, Villanova University) - abroad from 01/09/2012 to 04/27/2012 with
Villanova University: London or Singapore - Global Citizens Program
I was able to travel Europe and learn just how important it is to me to continue to see the world. This program was most definitely worthwile. The work placement was an incredible opportunity to begin really, really thinking about what career I see myself pursuing and how I want to go about gaining more experience.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The professors were great. Accept, I did have one professor for Business Dynamics who had us do some great activities but it was next to impossible to understand his accent through the four hour lecture. So, that took away from the quality of learning I was able to take away from the class. |

|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I felt integrated, although it would have been nice to have a bit more information provided to us surrounding things to do in order to begin to integrate from the moment got there, as opposed to having to find everything out for ourselves. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
The currency rates were killer. But, that is out of anyone's control. I was anticipating spending a lot of money while I was there, so it wasn't a total shock. But nevertheless, people considering taking part in this need to be aware of the heavy costs. |
* Was housing included in your program cost? | Yes |
* Was food included in your program cost? | No |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | widely varied from 75-500 (dependent on travel) |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | I would look into the student saving cards before you come here, as opposed to having to go through the application process post arrival. Also- as far as food goes: it is best to get into a routine of grocery shopping right from the start. Tescos and Sainsburys are the most affordable. |
