Villanova University: London or Singapore - Global Citizens Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned how to adapt to a slightly different culture and take the best from both worlds. It was certainly worthwhile as we did so much more than stay in London.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The courses were very well run, they allowed students to get a feel for British culture through excursions and on hands teaching.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

EUSA always made sure that we were taken care of.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

We lived on Kings road in an apartment, the street is very well known in London and an exciting place to live.

* Food:

We cooked ourselves.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

There were not many opportunities to get to know other students/people because we did not take classes with them. Perhaps it would be good if students from Villanova could meet the students from BU or other universities.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

A friend was sent to the hospital and everything ran smoothly.

* Safety:

I never felt unsafe and always took walks at night by myself.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

If you know how to cook, then food will be manageable.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 300
