Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The education system was not as rigorous as it is at Villanova. I learned more in that semester than I have in my entire life, but not in an standard academic setting. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
i learned so much about life and various other random facts, but teh academic side could have been more challenging. i also could have just picked a series of easier classes |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
it was a combination of italians and international students. we were all mixed in together |
* Food: |
dinning hall food was way better than we have here, but you have to be open to eating lots of oil. If not food was really good and inexpensive in town |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
we went on six field trips of major cultural places as well as lived in a lesser known one. YOu need to be a calm person to truly appreciate the attitude of the people of Urbino and how the field trips are conducted |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
um this is the safest place i have ever been too. i got sick and passed out in public, people who did not know me rushed to help me. I felt perfectly comfortable walking alone at night even though my advisor asked me not too. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition? |
|
Language acquisition improvement? |
the italians loved it when we tried so they were really good about helping us. Urbino is not a major metropolitan area so it was important to learn some phrases because not many people knew english |
