Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Living on a student budget was not easy but definitely not impossible. In my opinion, how easily living on a student budget depends on which country are we staying at. For example, in Paris, my budget would be more than when I am in Lisbon mainly because Paris in general is expensive. I suggest a student should have at least 300- 350 euros a week to have snacks and food.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? atleast 350 for food and snacks not including shopping and optional day trip
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Good deal in restaurant would be to order the Menu of the day. It would be better to do your own research on where to eat and what you want to do and directions to get to point abc from the hotel before arriving to a city. In that way a student can budget accordingly.

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
