Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
If you want to rigorous experience, you can have it. I chose to get the most out of my time in Munich. But there are ways to just have fun. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The staff was superb and friendly, though even they got swamped with work at times. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I would have preferred living with a host family because the dorm was somewhat solitary. But I can't complain.

The spaceshuttle bathrooms are awesome. Personal kitchen, albeit small, is also a nice touch. |
* Food: |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
German doctors can be, let's say, iffy. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | I like to eat well and attend musical performances, so I ended up spending a good deal, particularly on the latter. Many friends got by with smaller amounts. Be aware of Kautionen (deposits) for rooms (150Euro) and other items. |
Language
Language acquisition improvement? |
If your goal is learning German, you can learn German. But that has to be an active attempt. |
