Webster University: Athens - Odyssey in Athens
I learned a lot about the Greek culture. It allowed me to compare the differences between Greece and the United States. I had such a great time and would not change my experience for anything.

* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The class was much different compared the classes I have taken in the U.S. The class was very small, and based off notes that we took by listening to the teachers. We have about 5 papers and took one test throughout the class. The grading system was the same as my classes at Indiana University but the teaching method was different because we would just write what we thought was important and normally at Indiana University there are power point slides or printed out notes. |

My expectations were met within the Odyssey in Athens program. Our apartment was very close to where the class was held and the facility also had a computer lab, which made it easy to get things done. I truly enjoyed my time in Greece and in the classroom as well. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Our apartment was very close to our classroom, shopping, and nightlife. It was very easy to get around and we were within walking distance of everything. The apartment was very nice and had great beds, kitchen, and a balcony to dry clothes on. |
* Food: |
We were very close to many restaurants, so we never had a problem of finding food that everyone liked. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
We were given the opportunity to go to many museums and we also did a program trip to many historical destinations. The trip was very memorable and allowed us to all become closer and gave us a chance to see things that most never get the chance to see. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Overall I felt safe. If there was a strike going on the program would inform us on the places we should not go and were very helpful throughout my time there. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |

Comments: | I thought this class was very beneficial learning about the culture and the history of Greece through many aspects. The teacher was from Greece and was very knowledgeable of the information that was taught to us. The class was also very interesting because there were Greece students within the class so we were able to see the differences between students from the U.S. and students within the Greek culture. |
