I learned a lot about myself, but it is hard to quantify or articulate what exactly it was that I learned (other than the language, of course). Allegra Z - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I became more independent, responsible, and calm in stressful/new situations. I learned to live completely on my own and navigate a new culture. I learned a lot about the French way of life, and I gained a new perspective on the western world. It was most definitely a worthwhile experience. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I am now fluent in French, and even better, I know how to communicate with young people- not just talk like a grammatically correct grandmother! A student - Tufts University View Entire Review

I learned alot of life lessons from my experience abroad, met life-long friends in the program, and improved my French skills tremendously. For these reasons, not for academic reasons, it was very worthwhile. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review

LOVED this program. I also feel like taking a step back from college in the US has really let me appreciate my school more. Kara L - Wellesley College View Entire Review
It was absolutely worthwhile. Although one of the things I learned from it was that I don't want to live in France again, I learned a lot about myself and was able to evaluate my culture and other cultures from a new viewpoint. Laura D - Wellesley College View Entire Review
It was definitely worth while. I was able to explore Europe for the first time. I loved my host family and will always stay in contact with them. I felt that my French (comprehension, writing, speaking) definitely improved. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned how much I appreciate the American university system and overall the American way of life. It was a nice semester to hang out and relax, and it certainly made me appreciate what I left back home, but I would not do it again. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I think I gained more confidence in my academic potential and more determination to excel in my classes at Wellesley. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I gained an entirely new perspective on life and the world around me. Living as a foreigner for an entire year was a very valuable life experience that taught me to think in new ways, made me more of a global citizen, and helped me grow into a confident and considerate young adult. The ability to adapt to new and sometimes scary situations. The ability to communicate with almost everyone in a foreign language with increased fluency and ease. I fell in love with France and want to work/live there when I graduate. Yes it was worthwhile! A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
My writing improved dramatically, as did my vocabulary. It was also a great experience to live on my own in an apartment. It was definitely worth it! A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
While abroad I decided to change one of my majors to French, although I do not expect to pursue a career in this department. I really came to appreciate the French lifestyle and culture, and the American education system while I was abroad. I loved my experience, loved all the things I saw and new places I got to go.
