About
Tourist sites offer multiple views for the traveler to experience and enjoy. This course will expose students to various different aspects of the tourist view in the United Kingdom. Using food as the primary vehicle, the tour will visit food production sites such as Birmingham's Bull Ring Market and Cadbury Chocolate Factory (site of Willy Wonka), London's Borough Market, Billingsgate Fish Market, and Ludlow's outdoor markets. We will visit the various castles and major tourist sites of London, Bath, Cardiff, Birmingham and several other sites as we circle the country. We will experience how tourists view these spaces as well as the ways those living in those spaces create that view. The course will take place throughout three weeks and students will have an opportunity to learn about England as well as the impact tourism has upon the country.
