Definitely worth it. I gained a handful of lifetime friends and a new appreciation for other cultures. A person must be aware though, Going to Peru will give you the travel bug and one will never want to stop.

I highly recommend living with a host family. It is not as awkward as a person thinks it will be. Living with a family allowed me to learn the language and culture more completely. |

Try everything you can! Peruvians know how to combine flavors and spices to make amazing dishes. There was barely anything I did not like. |

| * What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | Go with an open heart and mind. The number one advice is to go with patience. Things may go awry but there is always a loving Person in the program who will be there to help you. |
