Best 5 weeks of my life !! Past Review
By Kendall (University of Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh) - abroad from 02/10/2020 to 06/15/2020 with

The program was definitely worthwhile and I would recommend it to anyone looking to study abroad. Moving to a new country on your own teaches you a lot about yourself and another culture. The internship was huge for my prospective career path. It gave me great hands-on skills that would be so hard to get in the US, and it gave me great clinical experience.

Review Your Program
|
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Classes were challenging because I had to take some classes for my minor, but there was a wide variety of classes to choose from. The classes I got to take were very interesting and were not available at my home university. |
|
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
TEAN was very helpful in getting us set up and feeling comfortable in our new home. |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Housing was university housing right next to campus. It was very convenient and everyone got their own rooms with a shared communal bathroom. |
| * Food: |
Cafeteria was right in the same complex as the housing. There were also some options around campus that were easily accessible. |
|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
The internship I had integrated me well within local culture. I got to work for an Aussie Rules Football Team as a sports trainer. It was fun getting to know the players and other trainers. We even became friends and would get together outside of trainings and games. |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
| * Safety: |
I felt very safe in Perth. Fremantle can get sketchy late at night because it is not as populated as Perth, but stick with a group and there will never be a time where you feel unsafe. |
| If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
I felt I got a little cheated when I got sent home due to COVID-19. The program was so much fun and one of the best experiences of my life. I would definitely go back. |
Finances
|
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |

Reasons For Studying Abroad
| To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. |
The Avid AdventurerThe wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal. |
