Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I was hoping to visit some of the countryside like we read about in the pre-read book - Country Driving. Otherwise a great experience. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Great tour program, very experienced and well led! |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Beautiful hotels. I think it would be interesting to stay in a Oriental - traditional house or B&B. |
* Food: |
Great quality, I just got tired of it after a while and needed some Western food for a day or two. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Pretty good, but we were tourists and were observing. Staying with a host family or a B&B experience would have enhanced the feeling of local culture |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
never felt in danger at all |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
Very well organized, very friendly guides and the professors were very knowledgeable. I made lifelong friends on the trip. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
depends on how you spend. The tips should be better described or included as it was a pain to collect, manage and also find cash. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $800 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Plan for the tips, they drain you. |

Reasons For Studying Abroad
To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. |
The Nearly Native or Trail BlazerCraving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.' |
