What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I think it's the most supported and socialized I've ever been. People were just really nice and I realized what I was missing at my home institution.

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The program was excellent socially, I met amazing people from all over the world. The academic rigor was also comparable to my home university.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

The dining halls were ok, but they did give a bunch of people in the college a bout of food poisoning which wasn't fun. I think they're switching to another food provider, so it may be better in future.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Yale-NUS is a bubble, it's not like the rest of Singapore. This is both positive and negative.

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

I had a really good time, perhaps academically I could've chosen something that challenged me more, transferred credits easier, or improved my language skills but I loved it.

A Look Back

  • Some introductory classes aren't too good.
  • The workload is high
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Add/drop ends really quickly, and most classes have a high amount of work required. Also, registration is extremely difficult and I wish someone had guided me on that.
