Yale-NUS College: Singapore - Direct Enrollment & Exchange
I think it's the most supported and socialized I've ever been. People were just really nice and I realized what I was missing at my home institution.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The program was excellent socially, I met amazing people from all over the world. The academic rigor was also comparable to my home university. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
|
* Food: |
The dining halls were ok, but they did give a bunch of people in the college a bout of food poisoning which wasn't fun. I think they're switching to another food provider, so it may be better in future. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Yale-NUS is a bubble, it's not like the rest of Singapore. This is both positive and negative. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
|
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
I had a really good time, perhaps academically I could've chosen something that challenged me more, transferred credits easier, or improved my language skills but I loved it. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $15 SGD |
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | No |
Direct Enrollment/Exchange
* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? | Exchange |

A Look Back
* What did you like most about the program? |
|
* What could be improved? |
|
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | Add/drop ends really quickly, and most classes have a high amount of work required. Also, registration is extremely difficult and I wish someone had guided me on that. |
