Study Abroad in Seoul Past Review
By Sarah M (Linguistics, Wellesley College) - abroad from 09/01/2015 to 12/20/2015 with
Yonsei University: Seoul - Direct Enrollment & Exchange
I learned a lot about different cultures, and not just Korean culture! I met a lot of international students and learning about their home countries was a great experience as well.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Not as academically rigorous as Wellesley classes but I still learned a lot. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
If there was wifi in the dorm rooms, it would have been perfect. I had a single room in SK Global House which I liked a lot. It had its own bathroom and the dorm building itself had a number of facilities. |
* Food: |
There wasn't a meal plan but there was a cafeteria that I ate at occasionally. The food was decent in both taste and price. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I didn't personally have any health issues but when my friend sprained her ankle she said that she received adequate care from the university. |
* Safety: |
Overall, I felt more safe in Seoul than I do in Boston. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | About $100, though I ate out a lot which isn't always necessary |
