Yonsei University: Yonsei International Summer School

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 6 months+

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

My professor was very good. I loved his lecture slides. The one thing I did not like was the grading system. Yonsei university had a curve where only 35% of the class can get an A.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The home country advisors were very helpful. They helped and answered all of my questions

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

They had really cheap food in the cafeteria

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

field trip to busan! it was really fun

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

It is a fairly safe country. If you are a girl, please do not travel around by yourself because there are guys asking you if you want to go to a night club. Also, do not sit in the front seat of a taxi because I've heard that there were bad taxi drivers in korea that touches you.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? about $300
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Take the subway from the airport to Seoul. It only costs $5 whereas taking the taxi is about $70...I made that mistake.

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
