By Jia C (Political Science and Government., University of California - Riverside) for
Yonsei University: Yonsei International Summer School
It was a great experience because Ive always wanted to go to Korea. I got to go to concerts that I've always wanted to go to. I got to try lots of great food, and saw a lot of great things.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
My professor was very good. I loved his lecture slides. The one thing I did not like was the grading system. Yonsei university had a curve where only 35% of the class can get an A. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The home country advisors were very helpful. They helped and answered all of my questions |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
|
* Food: |
They had really cheap food in the cafeteria |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
field trip to busan! it was really fun |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
It is a fairly safe country. If you are a girl, please do not travel around by yourself because there are guys asking you if you want to go to a night club. Also, do not sit in the front seat of a taxi because I've heard that there were bad taxi drivers in korea that touches you. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | about $300 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Take the subway from the airport to Seoul. It only costs $5 whereas taking the taxi is about $70...I made that mistake. |
