About

Swedes enjoy outdoor activities, and they will want you to join them in their many nature adventures. In one of the most beautiful countries in the world, you'll have an opportunity to enjoy swimming, hockey, tennis, sailing and a vast array of other activities with your host family. Sweden is also known for its great arts and design scene, and is the birthplace of furniture giant IKEA.

High School: Students will attend the Gymnasium (the Upper Secondary School) in Sweden. There are two general programs: natural sciences or social sciences. You’ll attend almost all subjects with your “klass” of around 30 students and get to know your fellow students very well.

Gap Year:  Whether you’ve just graduated, deferred college admissions or are deciding what’s next, you can use your gap year with YFU to gain a greater understanding of another culture. In the process, you’ll discover the real you and experience the world.
